With all this busyness and rushing that comes with this holiday season
it is important to rememeber to be mindful of what matters most.
Allow for pauses.
In our busy, over scheduled lives, we often become uncomfortable with being still.
Allowing and being mindful of quiet pauses in our day can be one of the greatest gifts for being present in our own lives and the lives of others.
We appreciate our world more.
One of big advantages of becoming more present in our everyday life
is that we decrease the amount of analyzing and labeling we do to the things, circumstances, and people in our surroundings.
We don’t judge as much.
When we are present there is a certain stillness and centeredness we begin to feel inside.
We calm down.
A favorite way to let go of feeling stressed during the busyness of our day and practice being mindful instead of mind full is to take deep belly breaths and just focus on them for a minute or two.
Breathing with the belly seems to calm one down in a physical way.
By focusing just on the in and out-breaths we are better able to connect to the present moment instead of the past or future “what ifs” that are making us feel stressed.
There is a playfulness that arises the more we practice being present.
This makes it easier to do things.
Many things become more enjoyable and easier to manage.
They become lighter, less of a burden.
Top three ways to slip into the present moment.
1. Pause your activity
2. Focus on your breath.
3. Focus on what’s right in front of you.
Practice being mindful during this season.
One of the best presents you can give someone or even yourself, is the gift of your presence.
